Almond Berry Breakfast Bread

In my opinion, there are few things more exciting than waking up
and realizing you have something sweet awaiting you.

Almond Berry Breakfast Bread is the perfect thing to get me
going in the morning.  It's packed with fruit and fiber
and is the perfect sidekick to a mug of tea or coffee.

To make this, you will need:

2  1/2  cups of flour
2/3  cup brown sugar
1/8  teaspoon almond extract
1/2  teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2  teaspoon cinnamon
2 eggs
1/4  teaspoon salt
1/2  teaspoon baking soda
1  1/2  teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoons vegetable oil (not shown)
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 cup buttermilk
2 cups of frozen mixed berries
1/2  cup sliced almonds

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

I like to start with the wet ingredients first and then add the flour at the end in increments.
This recipes creates a light dough that can easily be mixed with a fork.

How pretty is that?

I usually line my pans with aluminum foil to make life easier.
Sprinkle the almonds on top and bake for approximately 30 minutes.

VoilĂ !
Gooey, fruity deliciousness that will last you for days.
